About ITL

Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications (officially abbreviated as ITL) is a voluntary organisation, whose primary objective is to unite the Estonian information technology and telecommunications companies and organisations, to promote their co-operation in Estonia’s development towards information society, to represent and protect the interests of its member companies and to express their common positions.

The main priorities for 2023-2025 are:

  • E-state and information society policy
  • Education, labour and R&D

The long-term vision paper of the ITL Smart Estonia 2035 describes how brave changes can create better opportunities for everyone in Estonia. The vision is supported by three pillars:

  • Smart and brave economy;
  • Smart people;
  • Smart state with a vision.

To better represent members intrests, ITL is a member in the following organiszations – DigitalEurope, Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Estonian Employers’ Confederation and Estonian Taxpayers Association.

Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications predecessor was the Estonian Computer Association (AFA), founded in 1992. On 23 March 2000, AFA joined the Association of Telecommunication Companies (TEL). 40 companies were involved in the founding process. New associaton was named Estonian Information Technology and Telecommunications Companies Association (ITL).
