Estonian companies are in the ITS World Congress in Atlanta, where the delegation will hold several business meetings.

This week, seven intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and smart city companies, in collaboration with the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency (EIS) and the Minitsry of Foreign Affairs Estonia, are in Atlanta, USA, showcasing at the ITS World Congress their smart solutions.

“Presence at one of the world’s largest congresses focused on smart transport systems and smart city solutions helps to understand the big picture of the field and contribute at a high professional level. The innovative approach of Estonian companies has always attracted attention. There is an opportunity to see and experience where the world is moving in this field and where to more precisely direct your future activities,” said Piret Sauter, Head of the Remote Markets Region at EIS.

In addition to establishing contacts and discussing cooperation, the Estonians also signed an important deal. Namely, after focused work, the Estonian technology company Auve Tech, which develops autonomous vehicles, signed a cooperation agreement with Guident Inc. at the ITS World Congress in Atlanta to enter the US market.

The goal of the field of intelligent transportation systems is to increase the efficiency, safety and sustainability of transportation and logistics systems through the use of modern information and communication technologies. In Atlanta, companies presented their solutions in very different specifics.

“Compactness has always been an advantage for Estonia. We test quickly, solve challenges smarter and scale globally,” said Lili Kuusk, head of ITS Estonia, who is in America with the delegation. “From autonomous buses that already transport people in city centers, to artificial intelligence-based traffic systems that reduce congestion, or payment solutions that enable seamless cross-border mobility – Estonian innovators are already living in the future of transportation today.”

Estonian companies participating in the ITS World Congress are Auve Tech (autonomous buses), Mooncascade and Concise Systems (smart mobility software and data solutions), Wisercat (secure and connected infrastructure), Entringo (smart parking and access systems), Mobire Group (full-service car rental), and Parkinglot Category (climate-friendly parking lot planning).

The goals of the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency are to increase Estonia’s international competitiveness, develop entrepreneurship and the living environment. EIS helps companies find new markets and thereby support the recovery of the Estonian economy. The organization of the business delegation is funded by the European Union’s Recovery Instrument Fund, NextGenerationEU.
