Cybersecurity Awareness Month Kicks Off with Seminar at Tallinn Entrepreneurship Day

October 2, 2024

As the digital landscape continues to grow, so do the risks. Somewhere, there may be malicious individuals or even networks mapping out your company's digital footprint with harmful intent.

While many attackers rely on random, low-effort attempts like scam calls and emails, businesses must remain vigilant against more targeted threats.

To mark the start of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, we hosted a cybersecurity seminar as part of the Tallinn Entrepreneurship Day. The seminar focused on what companies, regardless of size, can do to protect themselves from cyberattacks.

Key speakers included Andrus Valma, CEO of Mobire Eesti AS, and Tanel Nargla, security manager at SK ID Solutions AS, who shared their insights as part of the ITL Estonian ICT Cluster campaign, “ITL was looking for a company to attack.” The session was moderated by ITL CEO Doris Põld.

Participants emphasized several ways to reduce cyber risks:

  • Training and educating employees
  • Implementing safe practices in both traditional and remote work environments
  • Ensuring secure communication with partners
  • Maintaining well-managed workspaces
  • Developing secure software
  • Employing competent IT managers
  • Raising cyber awareness among customers and partners

As we navigate the virtual world, staying informed and prepared is key to safeguarding businesses from the growing threat of cyberattacks.
