The pan-European trade association DIGITALEUROPE has elected a new management board for the next two years, and Doris Põld, Chief Executive Officer of ITL, the Estonian association of IT entrepreneurs, was elected as one of its members.

Hilary Mine from Nokia was re-elected president for the second term, and Floriane de Kerchove from Agoria, representing Belgian technology companies, was elected vice president.

The association unites the European digital community and comprises 98 corporations – from Amazon to Meta and Apple – and 41 professional associations from different European Union Member States. In total, the association represents 36,000 organisations from all over Europe. The management board of DigitalEurope is composed of 10 representatives from national professional associations and 10 representatives from corporations.

‘At ITL, we have collaborated with our umbrella organisation for years, and we have witnessed DIGITALEUROPE’s development into one of the strongest professional associations who steadfastly tackles challenges regarding technological evolution in the increasingly complex world,’ said the newly elected member of the management board Doris Põld. ‘Our collaboration has been very fruitful especially in the legislative and political spheres – with the ever-increasing number of regulations, we can present a united front to stand for the interests of all technology enterprises in the European Union. It is important to underline here that the voices of smaller countries are also heard.’

According to Doris Põld, the umbrella organisation uniting technology associations from different countries has now brought into even clearer focus the topics of networking among its members, initiating collaboration projects, and providing export support to its members. ‘This year has demonstrated that we must not be left alone. For example, in the field of cyber security, we need to collaborate efficiently at least with our neighbouring countries, but also with others. On the other hand, here at ITL, we have ample experience in supporting collaboration between enterprises to help them grow and internationalise their business, in addition to protecting their interests. This is the kind of expertise I would like to share as a member of the management board at DIGITALEUROPE. I also wish to contribute to exchanging experiences among the members and initiating new projects. I am convinced that both the members of ITL and the general public of Estonia will have a lot to gain from the initiation of joint collaboration projects.’

Doris Põld has worked in the Estonian IT sector for over 12 years. Initially, she ran the Estonian ICT cluster, and now, she manages ITL, the Estonian association of IT companies. Doris is determined to ensure that ITL is a specialised collaboration network that speaks for the innovation of digital society, and she continues to be the spokesman for the digital transformation of enterprises.

The Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications (ITL) is a professional association uniting enterprises and organisations operating in the field of information and communication technology. ITL’s primary objective is to facilitate business in the Estonian ICT sector, offer added value to Estonian economy, and simplify collaboration between enterprises.
