Estonian CyberTech Cluster Cyber Threat Webinar Focused on AI
May 8, 2026The “Top 5 Cyber Threats in 2026” series continued with a webinar titled “AI as an Attack Tool and AI-Based Phishing Attacks.”
The ITL webinar focused on how artificial intelligence is making cyberattacks faster, larger in scale, and more sophisticated. Experts participating in the discussion emphasized that while AI helps organizations automate security operations, it simultaneously creates new opportunities for attackers. As a result, speed, basic cybersecurity hygiene, and continuous risk assessment are becoming increasingly critical.
The panel discussion featured Jürgen Erm, CEO of Neverhack Estonia; Harri Uljas, CTO of OIXIO; and Tarmo Hanga, Chief Architect at the Estonian Information System Authority (RIA). The experts highlighted that AI is increasing both the volume of code and the complexity of systems beyond what humans alone can effectively manage. At the same time, AI enables faster identification of security vulnerabilities, automation of repetitive tasks, and stronger defensive capabilities.
An important topic was also companies’ preparedness for the AI era. The speakers stressed that every organization should assess its level of AI adoption and avoid automatically assuming that anything connected to a network is secure.

The discussion was moderated by Anett Numa, Head of International Cooperation at Neverhack Estonia.
