November 12, 2025

Estonia will be represented at the 7th Transform Africa Summit (TAS), taking place 12–14 November 2025 in Conakry, Guinea.

ITL-led business delegation includes Estonian technology companies Aktors, BCS Koolitus, B.EST Solutions, Cybernetica, and Digital Nation. ITL will participate as a Silver Sponsor of the high-level event.

The Transform Africa Summit is Africa’s leading forum that brings together heads of state, business leaders, and international organizations to shape the continent’s digital future. The 2025 edition, themed “AI for Africa: Innovate Locally, Impact Globally,” will focus on the role of artificial intelligence in driving Africa’s socio-economic transformation.

Kedi Välba, Vice President of ITL, highlights that Estonia’s collaboration with the Smart Africa Alliance has been ongoing for several years: “Smart Africa is a strategic partner for ITL in Africa – we have participated in the Transform Africa Summit since 2018 and, under our Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Alliance, have implemented various training and consultancy projects. The goal of our joint MoU is to promote Africa’s digital transformation and advance Smart Africa’s vision of a Single Digital Market, including knowledge transfer and the exchange of experiences between Estonia and African countries.”

As part of the summit, ITL will host a session on 14 November titled “Building Interoperable Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) with Digital Identity and Secure Data Exchange,” focusing on building secure and interoperable digital solutions. In addition, Estonian experts will join several discussions and panels, including under the Team Europe umbrella coordinated by the D4D Hub.

Estonian participants will share insights on how AI can empower a resilient and secure digital future, highlighting areas such as digital identity, secure data exchange, AI talent and workforce development, and public-private partnerships.

“Over the years, we have collaborated with many African countries, and TAS provides an excellent opportunity to reconnect with our partners and establish new collaborations. We are particularly pleased that this year’s summit takes place in West Africa, offering the chance to strengthen ties with francophone nations and local private-sector actors,” adds Kedi Välba.

The Smart Africa initiative was launched at the 2013 Kigali Summit, where seven African Heads of State adopted the Smart Africa Manifesto, committing to accelerate the continent’s socio-economic development through information and communication technologies. Today, the Smart Africa Alliance includes 40 member states representing over 1.2 billion people. The Transform Africa Summit is the flagship event of this initiative, bringing together leaders to discuss digital innovation and technology’s impact on Africa’s future.
