ITL at LEAP 2025

February 12, 2025

Estonian technology companies were visiting Saudi Arabia together with the Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs.

Estonian Business and Innovation Agency in cooperation with the ITL Estonia took companies with a joint Estonian stand to the international IT trade fair LEAP 2025, which was held in Saudi Arabia
at Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center from 9th to 12th of February 2025.

At meetings led by the Minister of Justice and Digital with representatives of the Saudi Arabian government and digital and business organizations, companies had the opportunity to strengthen existing cooperation and discuss possible new cooperation projects. The minister also participated in a panel discussion on the main stage of the technology conference, where ethical aspects of the use of artificial intelligence were discussed.

According to Liisa-Ly Pakosta, Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs, the meetings where the ministers of the Saudi government were introduced to Estonia’s business and investment environment and digital experience were successful beyond expectations. The Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, are among the priorities of Estonian business diplomacy. At the Gulf Business Opportunities Seminar held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tallinn in autumn, the interest of entrepreneurs in the region was extremely high. Visiting the region also provides an opportunity to present our views on various topics.

Seven ITL member companies were accompanying the visit: B.EST Solutions Estonia, CybExer Technologies, Helmes, Lean Digital, Miltton CIO World, Nortal and Wildix.

ITL CEO Doris Põld believes that Saudi Arabia is an important target market for companies in the Estonian technology sector. “Considering this, participating in the major LEAP event is very important to us. It makes us happy that we can call our participation here a tradition in a small way, we are here for the fourth time. We consider it very important to get support from the state to start making contacts in the market here – the ministers of the field have always supported our company delegation. Thanks to the continuous work and the support of the state, we can already see the following “fruits” from this visit, i.e. new cooperation agreements.”

The joint stand was co-financed by the European Union.
