ITL has a new CEO

Jüri Jõema, the CEO of Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications (ITL) for 16 years resigned from his position, he will still continue as an adviser for the board and staff of the association.

Doris Põld, who has been the manager of the Estonian ICT Cluster for 11 years, started as a CEO of ITL from 1st of September 2021.

Under the management of Jüri Jõema, the association has become a strong cooperation network in the field of ICT that speaks for the innovation of the digital society. Our vision is a smart Estonia. We are improving cooperation between the private and public sectors.

History lesson: Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications predecessor was the Estonian Computer Association (AFA), founded in 1992. On 23 March 2000, AFA joined the Association of Telecommunication Companies (TEL). 40 companies were involved in the founding process. New associaton was named Estonian Information Technology and Telecommunications Companies Association (ITL).

Today ITL has 110 members. The turnover of companies belonging to ITL makes up over 70% of the total turnover of the Estonian ICT sector. The main priorities for the ITL are digital economy, e-state and information society policy, education, labour and R&D.
