Our member signs MoU with Papua New Guinea at the Dubai EXPO

January 10, 2022

On Sunday Cybernetica signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Papua New Guinea Department of Information and Communications Technology.

The signing took place at the Dubai EXPO 2020 Estonian Pavilion in partnership with the ICT Cluster of Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications.

The aim of the memorandum is to develop further cooperation in e-governance technologies, starting from secure data exchange and interoperability.

Cybernetica was represented by Kevin Tammearu, business development consultant, at the signing. According to Tammearu it’s the first step towards supporting the development of e-governance in Papua New Guinea.

“We’ll start from the implementation of secure data exchange, to build a strong foundation upon which further digital services can be developed. In addition to the technology, however, Cybernetica will also advise stakeholders and offer support, for example, in designing policies required for successful digitalisation,” explained Tammearu.

“When the Estonian ICT Cluster decided to become the official partner to the Estonian Pavilion at the Dubai EXPO, our expectation was that the EXPO wouldn’t just be a gateway to the United Arab Emirates, but also give the opportunity to meet with representatives from all over the world,” said Doris Põld, CEO of the Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications. “I am glad to see that Estonian companies know how to use these opportunities. Cybernetica is one of the examples of how longterm planning has reached a concrete milestone at the EXPO.”
